Job Accelerator Grant Scheme (Budget update) opportunity for Onkaparinga businesses
As part of the 2017/18 State Budget announced on 22 June 2017, for each new apprentice and trainee hired, Job Accelerator Grants will increase by up to $5000. Combined with the existing grant, the benefit increases to up to $15 000. Existing grants of $4000 or $10 000 for other new jobs in small and medium businesses continue.
This fund encourages SA businesses to employ additional full-time, part-time and casual employees, and maintain them for at least 12 months. $10,000 each new employee is available to employers liable for payroll tax; and $4,000 each new employee is available for small businesses not liable for payroll tax (plus the extra $5,000 if the employee is an apprentice or trainee).
Businesses that increase their numbers of SA employees will be eligible to receive a grant for each additional worker employed by them in a new position between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018. The grant will be paid at the first and second anniversary date of employment.
Please note that businesses applying for a Job Accelerator Grant must register a new employee within 90 days of the employee's commencement date.
