Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is responsible for administering the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 in South Australia. The purpose of the Act is to regulate and control the sale, supply and consumption of liquor for the benefit of related industries and the South Australian public.
As part of the 2017/18 State Budget announced on 22 June 2017, the Job Accelerator Grant Scheme was updated to provide employers an additional $5,000 to take on an apprentice or trainee. This is extra to the existing fund to encourage SA businesses to employ additional full-time, part-time and casual employees, and maintain them for at least 12 months. $10,000 each new employee is available to employers liable for payroll tax; and $4,000 each new employee is available for small businesses not liable for payroll tax.
